ManxFilms Year: 1999 - 2004

The ManxFilms website began when I came across some filming happening in the Isle of Man in 1999. It made me wonder how many other films had been made on the Island and where abouts they had been filmed. With the help of the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) and the internet as a whole I managed to gather a lot of information to start the site and then updated it as and when I found out about more filming taking place around the Island. Whilst I was able to keep the website up to date easily when I was on the Isle of Man, leaving the Island to go to university meant that I was too far away to easily find out about new films being made and so updates slowly dried up. Sadly the site closed down in 2004 although there is interest from Duke Marketing - the publishers of isleofman.com, the main Isle of Man website - to take over the content and update it for their own site.
